Bengal cats are hypo-allergenic, which is defined as having a decreased tendency to provoke an allergic reaction.
The reason many people suffer from cat allergies is all due to the dander which is comprised of the cat’s dry skin flakes and their saliva. These microscopic particles quickly become airborne and cause some to sneeze and itch.
Bengals are less likely to cause this kind of reaction due to many reasons:
Even though I am a cat lover and now breeder, I myself have suffered cat allergies. With my previous cats, a Ragdoll and a Birman, I had itchy watery eyes and blocked sinuses. Now with a houseful of Bengals, the allergies have disappeared.
